An Evil under the Sun

Speaker - Elder Ayodeji Adesina (Lay Pastor, BHSDAC, London)

(Message summarised by Sis. Ayobola Akwarandu)

Key Text: Ecclesiastes 10: 5-7 “5 There is an evil I have seen under the sun, the sort of error that arises from a ruler: 6 Fools are put in many high positions, while the rich occupy the low ones. 7 I have seen slaves on horseback, while princes go on foot like slaves.”
Solomon says he has seen an evil under the sun, something totally unheard of. Everywhere one goes, there are obscene scenes like an 8yr old smoking on the street, this is the hand of the enemy. Fools are put in high positions, slaves are riding on horse back whilst princes are walking like slaves. As God’s children, we are supposed to be the rulers but everywhere we look, it seem like ‘slaves’ are ruling. God’s intension is that we live as priests and kings, to become like ‘Israel’ and to be the head and not the tail. Many Christians today believe that the reward of a Christian is only in heaven but it is God’s will that we like as kings and princes here and now, for the Scripture says that even now we sit in heavenly places with Christ. The passage in Ecclesiastes tells us what God has in mind when he created us to rule.

3 Strategies the enemy uses

1. Ignorant about our rights, privileges and calling in Christ Jesus - The devil covers the truth that would set us free. Choose not to be ignorant. Many are living as slaves today because they are ignorant.
2. Satanic manipulations - This is any form of direct satanic assault on a Christian, which might be in the form of casting a spell on someone or witchcraft activities or demonic bondage. For a child of God, we need to know that Isaiah says that even the lawful captive of the mighty can be delivered. There is deliverance in the blood of the Lamb.
3. Negative confessions: Many spend their lives thinking and confessing negatively. The Bible says that as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. Many are holding themselves in bondage today by the words of their own mouths. Remember the widow of Zarephath when she was on her way to the Prophet of God after the death of her son, when met by Gehazi on the way and asked, ‘is it well with you?’ she answered, ‘it is well’ even though her child lay dead at home.

6 Steps to Victorious Living

1. Be born again
2. Pray to discover who you really are in Christ Jesus
3. Pray for a vision/blueprint of where God is taking you
4. Disconnect yourself from negative people, do not be a companion of fools, think big, expand your tent.
5. Watch your tongue
6. Walk in Holiness, honesty and Integrity.
